En 1912 se crearon los símbolos oficiales de la Republica de El Salvador, la bandera y demás símbolos que forman parte del Pabellón Nacional. Una forma de homogenizar a travez de un solo color y una sola simbología la identidad de esta region de Centroamérica. 

Esta serie es una investigación en la que exploro y cuestiono esta simbología patria, la bandera como símbolo de un pueblo, el lema DIOS UNION LIBERTAD como palabras fundacionales que guían a la nación. En los tiempos en que escribo esto, El Salvador pasa por un periodo de regresión hacia un gobierno autoritario, muy parecido a la tradición de los gobiernos militares dictatoriales del siglo XX; esta serie es un intento de cuestionar estos símbolos que nos unen, pero que al final se vuelven parte de la manipulación estatal y mediática para minar democracias débiles como la de este país. 

In 1912, the official symbols of the Republic of El Salvador were created, the flag and other symbols that are part of the National Pavilion. A way to homogenize the identity of this region of Central America through a single color and a single symbology.

This series is an investigation in which I explore and question this national symbology, the flag as a symbol of a people, the motto GOD UNITY LIBERTY as founding words that guide the nation. At the time I write this, El Salvador is going through a period of regression towards an authoritarian government, very similar to the tradition of dictatorial military governments of the 20th century; this series is an attempt to question these symbols that unite us, but that in the end become part of state and media manipulation to undermine weak democracies like this country's.
